Khalilah H. Purnell is an globally recognized author, new filmmaker, storyteller, and advocate whose work is rooted in truth, empowerment, and community impact. With over 18 published titles spanning poetry, children’s literature, and empowerment journals, she uses her voice and her pen to inspire transformation across generations.

She is the founder of KayP Unscripted Productions LLC, where she brings powerful, socially conscious stories to the screen, including her groundbreaking debut film The Silent Crisis.

Looking ahead, Khalilah is expanding her vision into the world of beauty and wellness with her upcoming brand: Ischyo by Kay (vegan haircare, inspired by her late mother who passed from Stage 4 Lung Cancer in October 2024, vegan skincare, and candles), Both lines are designed to honor confidence, self-care, and holistic wellness for melanin-rich and sensitive skin. She is also in the planning stages of her foundation, named after her daughter, called "The S.o.n.t.e Foundation". 

At the center of her work is a movement greater than herself.
